PORT CHESTER, NY – Westchester Gentle Dentistry hosted its inaugural Free Dental Day on Friday, March 27, in partnership with the Carver Center, providing essential dental care to members of the local community and earning coverage from News 12 New York.
The event delivered thousands of dollars in donated dental services to approximately 20 individuals selected through the Carver Center’s Case Management Program. Treatments included dental exams, cleanings, restorative care, extractions, and complimentary oral cancer screenings—helping address a critical gap in access to care for underserved populations in Westchester County.
According to the CareQuest Institute for Oral Health, approximately 72 million adults in the United States lack dental insurance, making preventive care difficult to access. This initiative reflects Westchester Gentle Dentistry’s commitment to improving access to high-quality, compassionate dental care at the local level.
“We’re doing this because we believe that everyone deserves access to quality dental care,” said Dr. Feryal Alidadi, founder of Westchester Gentle Dentistry. “Giving back to our community is at the heart of what we do.”
The event was made possible with support from Henry Schein, which donated over $1,000 in dental supplies, and through close collaboration with the Carver Center. Community members and organizers alike emphasized the importance of expanding access to care and expressed hope that similar initiatives will continue in the future.
The Free Dental Day also highlighted the power of local partnerships in addressing healthcare disparities, as well as the importance of preventive care and early detection—particularly in recognition of Oral Cancer Awareness Month.
Westchester Gentle Dentistry plans to build on this initiative in the years ahead, continuing its mission to provide comfortable, compassionate care while expanding access to those who need it most.
